Weber Style 32903 Professional Grade Grill Pan Review

(More customer reviews)We love to grill vegetables. Had an old non-stick type pan, but it got rusted thru and was unsafe to use. I finally settled on this Grill Pan. Frankly it is the best twenty bucks I spent.
The stainless steel will discolor if heated too much, but cleaning is not too bad. The first time I used it without oiling the pan, cleaning needed quite a bit of scrubbing. I ended up using oven cleaner (Easy Off) and it worked pretty well - got all the crud off. I now oil the pan before putting it on the grill and clean up is not bad. The advantage of stainless steel is that with a bit of care it will give good service and there is nothing to flake off.
I also bought the veggie basket and use both interchangeably. The lips all around are great, I just use a spatula to lift the veggies to a serving dish.
LOVE: Quality of construction; Cost; Raised lips all around; Material
HATE: Cleanup is tough, but it is no tougher than with so called non-stick pans - had one.
Would I recommend it - definitely; I plan to replace mine with a similar one when this one goes (or I get tired of it)

(More customer reviews)At less than six bucks, and free delivery I couldn't pass it up. I tested it out on some thin strips of steak and it cooked them up wonderfully. I can think of only a few uses for this, but at the price I figure that I could buy a few and have a "make your own fajita" party or something and then throw them away if they aren't worth storing.
The overall manufacturing seems good, though I would have expected/hoped that the grilling surface was a little more substantial (cast iron) rather than pie-tin-thin.

(More customer reviews)This is a very well made pan. The surface is not as nicely finished as a Lodge product (number one in my book), it is manufactured in China. But the quality is decent and this pan will probably last forever. This in turn makes me wonder if I will regret this purchase. I've used it only once and to be truthful the "infusion" seemed to make no impact on the flavor of the chicken. Maybe I'm just at an age where most of my tastebuds are dead or perhaps I need to find some better recipes. For those who adore beer can chicken cooking this pan will probably be a big hit.
If you want to get a perfect finish on this pan rub it with a generous coat of shortening, warm it very slightly on the stovetop and then pop it into a 500 oven and turn the oven off. I always seal my cast iron just after baking homemade pizzas when the oven is super heated. Just don't put a cold pan into a hot oven. The surface will be glossy and perfect. You better have a good exhaust fan though, as the fumes are not too pleasant.

- non-stick surface makes it extremely easy to clean. Charred food debris just slides off the surface.
- base of the unit is made of plastic and acts as an insulator so there is no need to put anything under it to protect your tabletop.
- safety mechanism built in so that grill cannot be operated without drip pan.
- takes only 10 minutes to heat up fully.
- grill is a heavy cast iron so holds heat well. I have seen other similar grills by companies like Sanyo and only Zojurushi uses a heavy cast iron grill.
- heats very well. Grills meat very fast.
- no smoke generated- not sure why, but there just isn't any.
Cons:
- none so far.
Notes:
- if you want to grill vegetables, I'd recommend coating them with some oil before putting them on the grill, otherwise the veges tend to get dry.
- power cable is short, so make sure you have an extension cable handy.

(More customer reviews)I have a built in outside grill called fire magic that resently cost me close to 500.00 to fix and bring back up to new condition. The problem is that the juices from the meats go past the flavor gates down to the burnners that can cause a plug up. I purchased the Charbroil Heatwave because it caputures the jucies in the bowls that are underneath the porclein cooking crates so no jucies will hit the burner. Great product, and as a bounus the foods cooked on this grill tastes better that the $ 2200.00 fire magic grill. It's a no brainer purchase.Buy it!!!

Char-Broil 4984722 Premium Electric Rotisserie Review

(More customer reviews)I received this as a gift and have used it about four times so far. It was OK to install, but interestingly enough the brackets don't fit my Thermos grill all that well. Surprising since both the grill and rotisserie are made by Charbroil.
The motor mount won't adjust quite enough to allow the spit to turn without hitting the lid of the grill. I compensated by slightly propping the lid open ~1\4". You may have to remove the grills themselves to allow the food to turn freely.
I was able to cook two chickens at the same time without much difficulty, but it would be nice if you could buy a second set of prongs to better hold multiple pieces. Overall, for the money, it's a great tool and the resulting food turned out delicious everytime.

Black color faded quickly which doesn't bother me but today (less than two months after purchase) I was pulling the cover off and it started ripping in a spot that was thin from sun wear. Didn't even last two months. I can't find any universal covers big enough for this grill, I guess I'll have to make something.

Weber Style 6435 Professional-Grade Grill Pan Review

(More customer reviews)This received top ratings from America's Test Kitchen (Cooking Illustrated & Cook's Kitchen). I was skeptical because I have tried about a dozen different grill pans in the 18 months, but none have really worked. This is the best I have used yet.
One was a square-ish pan and the corners snapped and became unusable. A common problem with many pans; they are welded and not stamped or folded. The welds usually break due to the high heat in the grill.
My old favorite is a bowl style; it's decent, but the problem is the top is bigger than the bottom so there is not a lot of actual grilling space. As a result you either have steamed veggies or you have to keep stirring.
The biggest complaint I have about most grill pans is the holes. Either they are too big and things like cherry tomatoes and sliced onions fall through, or the holes are too small. Small holes have many problems: difficult to clean, too many and the food gets too charred, too many holes and the metal separating the holes breaks...etc.
This pan is the best pan I have used yet. It it made of one piece with NO welds; the sides are bent up to create a lip and give the user an edge to flip and turn food. Also, the holes are not actually holes, they are slits. This means that one does not have to worry about food slipping through the spaces; from time to time sliced onions get stuck, but not really a BIG deal. It works great for Portabella mushrooms though it is not just for veggies, it's great for fish. Another big seller is that this is stainless and easy-ish to clean. It's not going to be non-stick easy to clean, you will have to scrub, but with a Brillo pad and elbow grease it's not a big deal.
The only complaint I have is the size. I have a two burner grill (unless I can talk my wife into getting a new grill next summer) and the pan can be a little too big for this type of grill. This "complaint" is not that big of a complaint since I usually don't do veggies at the same time as the meat.
If Weber updates this pan, I would recommend making it available in a smaller size and upgrading the metal; it's a little light weight. It's not bad, a little more heft would be nice.
If you have a grilling fanatic in your family (even if it's you) then buy this pan. It's great! You won't be disappointed. Get this pan.

(More customer reviews)This is one appliance that lives up to every one of the manufacturer's claims. I follow directions and spray the grill surface with cooking spray and put half a cup of water in the pan below, and the grill really is, as advertised, smokeless and extremely easy to clean. I like the adjustable grill temperature, a feature I'm not used to since my faithful antique Farberware, now deceased, had only two settings, namely "plugged in and on" or "unplugged and off". The Sanyo cooks everying in half the time the old grill did, and without cabinet-endangering flareups. I particularly like the enormous cooking surface since I'm regularly cooking for 5 adults and a child and with this grill I can cook for all of us at once. The dimensions make it easy to store if you set it vertically rather than horizontally. The appliance is so low in height that I set mine on a silicone countertop protector, but I'm not sure this is really necessary. My only complaint is that there is no surrounding rim to keep your hamburgers from sliding right off the grill when you try to flip them over, but using a second spatula as a backstop solves that problem. This grill is a terrific bargain even at the suggested retail price; at the current Amazon price it's even more terrific.

Every place he went in the film gave you a look at different types of Americans, their history, their future and all held together by the love of America's favorite food. The book builds upon that. Each entry is written with admiration for the burger, the restaurant and the people that cook them. By visiting different cities, cultures, races, and histories of the many burger joints in this book, Motz is able to bring them altogether on one theme: they all make a great burger. And isn't that what America is about? This hodgepodge of cultures in one place looking for the dream, can all be united by ground beef in a bun. Forget the mass produced fast food chains. It's the local mom and pops, diners, decades old places that Americans hold true to their heart. It was written that if you don't claim your hometown greasy spoon as serving the best burger, then you're a wimp. Well this book covers many of those hometown favorites. Even if you do not especially like hamburgers, this book is essential for reading on American folk-life and its wonderful people.
