Baker's Secret Basics Nonstick Cookie Pan Review

Size is actually 17.5" by 12" - not as listed in product description.
Listed as heavy duty - this is a light middleweight pan at best.
I worked for Ekco-Glaco remanufacturing industrial baking pans for three years and also worked for Satan's cookie baker - Mrs. Fields for two years - I know the difference.

With proprietary nonstick coating on tin-coated professional-weight steel, this small cookie pan delivers even cooking results, optimal browning, and effortless release of baked goods. Its two-ply steel is fortified with Electro-Tin Plating (ETP), which enhances durability and rust protection while providing even heat distribution. The pan is easy to handle to and from the oven, and its broiler-safe rating allows for the multi-purpose function of both baking and cooking. Only non-metal utensils, such as nylon and wooden tools, should be used to protect its nonstick coating. The dishwasher-safe pan measures 13-1/4 by 9-1/4 inches and carries a five-year limited warranty.

Nordic Ware Compact Ovenware Baking Sheet Review

The coating does not last - extremely poor durability. I've been very careful with this pan, using only wood or plastic utensils and washing by hand only. Didn't matter - within just a few uses, the coating flaked off and the edges on the underside are rusting. Waste of money!

The aluminized steel construction of this toaster oven baking sheet is wonderful, as it provides even heating and baking--the non-stick surface also makes for easy cleanup. Toaster ovens, especially when used with this sheet, are great for dorms, RVs, offices, apartments, condos, and boats.

Chicago Metallic Non-Stick 4-Piece Toaster Oven Set Review

Chicago Metallic Non-Stick 4-Piece Toaster Oven Set

For 6 months, I had only a toaster oven, so I used it to cook everything. This pan set was perfect, and surprisingly great quality. I used either the cookie sheet or the cake pan nearly every day for roasting, baking, broiling. The nonstick is great, the metal is thick and sturdy. These don't seem cheesy at all, especially compared with other sets.
The pan's capacity is about the same as a square 8x8 or 9x9, so you don't have to change quantities for cornbread, brownies, etc.
Now I have a full oven, and no toaster oven anymore, but I still use these pans all the time to cook for just the 2 of us.

Foil Broiler Pans 333 - 1 Pack Review

Foil Broiler Pans 333 - 1 Pack

Besides being very flimsy each pan comes with a large - about 8 x 8, paper sticker attached with big globs of glue that take some time getting off. This isn't glue you can roll off and has to be scraped off. The pans come in a sealed package so why they put a sticker on each one and use this glue (toxic?) is over kill. Nice for the convenience but I won't be buying this brand again. Back to a heavy rack with foil underneath.

Chicago Metallic 26639 Nonstick Petite Broil & Roast Pan Review

Chicago Metallic 26639 Nonstick Petite Broil and Roast Pan

This is a nice piece of metal, not a flimsy piece of junk. I use it with the rack for broiling in my toaster oven. I like the depth because it contains lateral splatters. (The exact size is 10 x 6.9 x 1.8 inches deep; the removable rack rests 3/4 of an inch above pan's bottom). It cleans easily, however, it might be a good idea to spray Pam in it before use.
UPDATE, July 2009: After four months of use I notice signs of rusting at the bottom of the pan. If I had used Pam from the very beginning this might not have occurred. Also, I don't know if washing it in the dishwasher might have prompted the rusting. I contacted the Chicago Metallic Company. Here is what they told me:
"While there are consumer pans that bear the brand name 'Chicago Metallic' there is only one Chicago Metallic that carries the Bundy Eagle and offers pans that are made exclusively in the USA. Our pans represent the industry's highest standards for quality, service and durability and we are sure that after you use our pans there will be no doubt as to which Chicago Metallic you prefer.
"The Chicago Metallic Nonstick Petite Broil & Roast Pan is not made by us. It is made in China by Focus Products, Inc. We sold them the rights to use our name back in '04."
Wholly surprised by this revelation I found myself wondering, "What do we have here? A plot to deceive the public?" Chicago Metallic is allowing another company to use their good name (yes, they do enjoy a leading reputation) whether that company produces top quality merchandise or not. Corporate greed rules the day. I would have been very upset were it not for the rather low price of this item.
I contacted Focus Products. They told me the following: "This pan is not supposed to rust, but if you are using 'hard water' there could be a problem. The pan is dishwasher safe, but make sure that it is situated upside down in your machine so that there won't be any standing water in the pan during or after the drying cycle."
Note: the superintendent of my building says that we do not have hard water. He suggests I use the dishwasher's "Quick Wash" cycle rather than the "Heavy Duty" cycle that I had been using.
I know you might be wondering why I don't just wash it by hand, but it's easier for me to dump it all (pan and rack) into the dishwasher and be done with it. If I have to replace this combo every four months I guess it's still worth the money; that is, until I can find something better. Meanwhile, regarding my two star rating, I've been criticized for being "inordinately generous".
Folks, this is not a product that can be reviewed right out of the box. I urge reviewers to update their reviews. Pigs at the Trough: How Corporate Greed and Political Corruption Are Undermining America
